Brand philosophy and custom furniture design

During the 3D design stage, we refine the geometry and ergonomics of each piece, carefully considering every joint, structural load, and interaction between materials. Virtual reality then brings the design to life, allowing us to experience it at full scale and understand its proportions, volume, and presence within the interior—before production even begins.
Before a design reaches the workshop, we experience it in VR. Seeing the piece at 1:1 scale reveals details that drawings alone cannot, allowing us to resolve potential issues early, minimize changes during production, and preserve the integrity of the original vision.

Virtual Reality

From Idea to Life

Most business cards follow a predictable and fruitless life cycle: from hand, to pocket and eventually to the bin. Our interactive 15-piece Essenhoff business “CARd” turns an exchange of contact details into a moment of curiosity and genuine connection.

Behind the Cabinet Doors: Our Process
This kitchen had two contributors who rarely make it into the finished photographs.
During installation, they held up a heavy wall cabinet, worked quietly and asked for nothing in return.
They were old dining chairs, a role well outside their job description.

Then came the cabinet fronts, the stone, the glass shelves and the lighting, and the kitchen slowly took on the finished look we'd been working toward. We kept the photographs of the chairs.

We like to show furniture with a little of its backstory: open cabinets, tools within reach, and those moments when you can still see how everything fits together.
Special thanks to the chairs.
Essenhoff furniture is crafted from the finest-quality hardwoods, carefully selected from materials shaped by nature itself. The unique character of each piece is defined by the natural variations in grain patterns, textures, and wood tones — elements that form an essential part of our design philosophy. We dedicate particular attention to the meticulous selection and harmonious pairing of individual timber boards, ensuring that every creation possesses a distinctive and balanced appearance.
Following a thorough hand-sanding process, each piece is treated with natural linseed oil, allowing the richness and depth of the wood grain to emerge. The furniture is then carefully rested for three days to ensure complete absorption and drying of the finish. After this period, the surface is gently sanded once again before receiving a second and third protective layer, resulting in a refined, durable, and naturally beautiful finish.
